Silver Foxes go for two in a row
Lamar won the 1A Division I state title last season with only six seniors. Third-year coach Corey Fountain returns 20-plus juniors this fall, a huge class-size for a school in South Carolina’s smallest classification, as the Silver Foxes hunt back to back titles for the first time since winning three straight from 2002 to 2004 under J.R. Boyd.
Outside of swapping C.A. Johnson for Timmonsville, Region 2-A looks very similar to last fall’s Region 3-A. Timmonsville, a school located just 11 miles from Lamar, gives the Silver Foxes a true region rivalry game and is a nice addition budget-wise, considering the lengthy trips to Lewisville and Great Falls.
